Olympian Simidele Adeagbo Meets with IOC President Thomas Bach

LAUSANNE, SWITZERLAND [June 29, 2018] – Olympian Simidele Adeagbo met with International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach to work toward building a better world through sport. President Bach and Adeagbo spoke about their shared vision to bring the Olympic Games to Africa and passion for empowering women and girls around the world.

Adeagbo last saw President Bach during her trailblazing Olympic debut in the Women’s Skeleton at the 2018 Winter Games when he personally congratulated her after her final run. Adeagbo now met with President Bach in Lausanne, Switzerland after visiting the Olympic Museum and the backstage collection where her Olympic Skeleton uniform has been carefully preserved for future generations. As a sport and social justice advocate, Adeagbo welcomed the opportunity to meet with President Bach.

“It was an honor to meet with President Bach,” said Adeagbo. “The Olympics are the ultimate expression and gold standard for democracy in sport. We had some great discussions and I’m looking forward to see how we can work together to harness the power of sport as a unifying and transformative force.”

Post her meeting with President Bach, Adeagbo plans on continuing to break down barriers and be an agent of change globally.
